Investor Relations Associate - Hedge Fund & SMA Manager

About the Company and Role

Markin Asset Management is a boutique alternative investment firm known for top decile performance, managed by a compact, passionate, and dynamic group of professionals. We are seeking an Investor Relations Associate with fund IR experience to act as the main contact for investors and a vital collaborator with senior leadership. This position is entirely remote, requiring full availability during US Eastern Time business hours. The compensation package is competitive.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for investors, handling inquiries, providing updates on fund performance, and addressing concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
• Prepare and disseminate investor-facing materials such as presentations, performance reports, tear sheets, and due diligence questionnaires, clearly articulating investment strategies and opportunities to potential investors.
• Build and nurture relationships with both current and prospective investors, including representing the firm at networking and industry events.
• Create content for investor updates, newsletters, and various promotional materials that assist with fundraising efforts.
• Oversee the investor communications schedule to guarantee the timely and accurate distribution of materials.
• Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless investor operations and onboarding processes.
• Organize conferences, advisor meetings, webinars, and industry gatherings.
• Partner with senior leadership on new marketing initiatives and strategic growth plans.
• Arrange scheduling for investor meetings and conference calls.
• Support diverse administrative and operational projects within a cooperative, entrepreneurial setting.
• Maintain and enhance CRM systems and processes to track investor interactions and monitor the fundraising pipeline.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of investor relations experience within hedge funds, SMA managers, or alternative investment firms.
• Exceptionally organized and driven, with meticulous attention to detail and capable of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
• Deep knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and the structural aspects of hedge funds and alternative investments.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex financial data into clear and compelling presentations.
• Highly intelligent, persuasive, and possessing strong professional integrity.
• Effective working remotely with self-motivation and consistent, dependable communication practices.
