About the Role
This opportunity is with a consulting and search firm representing an award-winning wealth management practice in New York. The position supports the Head of Investment Strategy across the full investment platform and plays a key role in strengthening and evolving the firm’s investment approach.
The role is based in Midtown, New York, with an in-office schedule of 3 to 4 days per week. Compensation is $135,000 to $150,000.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out both fundamental and quantitative research to inform investment decisions across Core portfolios, Satellite strategies, and future initiatives.
- Review mutual funds, ETFs, single stocks, bonds, alternative investments, and other opportunities through detailed due diligence.
- Assess investments using factors such as performance, risk, fees, manager quality, valuation, portfolio alignment, and relative appeal versus alternatives.
- Contribute to idea generation, investment case development, and ongoing research for diversified holdings and specialized strategy sleeves.
- Help convert market views and research findings into practical investment recommendations and implementation plans.
- Prepare internal investment updates, client commentary, portfolio reports, and other market and strategy communications.
- Support the connection between research, portfolio construction, market outlook, and implementation across the broader platform.
- Build, maintain, and refine Excel-based models, analytical tools, and investment frameworks used in research and decision-making.
- Analyze opportunities using both quantitative and qualitative inputs, including trends, cash flow, valuation, risk, and portfolio fit.
- Maintain databases of existing and prospective investments and keep documentation current for research and monitoring purposes.
- Track portfolio performance, exposures, risks, and attribution to support ongoing portfolio reviews and improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Investment Strategy, Portfolio Management, Investment Research, Planning, and other teams.
- Participate in feedback, training, process improvement, and broader firm initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial services with a focus on investment research and analysis.
- Series 7 license, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, self-directed working style.
- Advanced financial modeling ability in Excel.
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg or Morningstar.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Background
- Progress toward a financial services credential such as CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or CFP is preferred.

Compensation
