Role overview

An established private investment firm in Dublin is looking for an Investment & Portfolio Analyst to join its small, experienced investment team on a permanent basis. The business follows a long-term investment approach and manages a diversified portfolio, offering wide-ranging exposure to multiple asset classes.

This position is well suited to someone who wants to be involved in research, manager selection, portfolio oversight, and broader investment decision-making.

What you will do

  • Carry out in-depth investment research and carry out due diligence on a variety of opportunities.
  • Help assess and shortlist external investment managers and investment funds.
  • Track current investments and produce routine performance and investment updates.
  • Contribute to portfolio reviews, asset allocation discussions, and investment strategy work.
  • Create polished reports and presentations for senior leaders and investment committees.
  • Work with external managers, custodians, and other professional advisers.
  • Take part in investment roadshows, conferences, and industry events when needed.
  • Make sure reporting is accurate and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Support governance, compliance, and regulatory obligations as required.
  • Assist with a range of investment projects across the wider team.

Candidate profile

  • Between 2 and 5 years of experience in investment management, investment consulting, wealth management, pensions, manager research, or a comparable investment setting.
  • Solid understanding of investment markets and portfolio analysis.
  • Practical experience reviewing investment funds and tracking investment performance.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability, paired with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel capability, along with strong PowerPoint and reporting skills.
  • Comfort using investment data and carrying out financial analysis.
  • CFA qualification, or active progress toward the CFA program, would be a strong advantage.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain investment analysis in a concise way.
  • A naturally inquisitive approach and a genuine interest in financial markets and investing.
