Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional in Venture Capital to join our team as an Investment Officer focused on venture capital and private equity. This role involves leveraging a robust network within the venture capital industry to source exclusive general partner relationships and conduct extensive due diligence on potential investments across venture capital, growth equity, and private equity funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and source hard-to-access general partner relationships from your professional network and through intermediaries, including tracking spin-out candidates.
- Perform comprehensive due diligence on prospective funds, including evaluating performance metrics, fund managers, and associated risks.
- Monitor and assess the ongoing performance of existing fund investments while providing periodic updates to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to aid investment decision-making processes.
- Develop thorough investment reports and presentations for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate extensively with investment colleagues to identify new opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments that influence private equity investments.
- Contribute to the negotiation and structuring of investment agreements.
- Assist distribution teams by supporting SMA or fund product presentations for Asset and Wealth Management clients and prospects.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in private equity, fund of funds, or related investment capacities.
- While the primary focus is on primary investments, a solid understanding of secondaries and co-investments is essential.
- Proven expertise conducting thorough due diligence and risk evaluation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of market conditions and industry trends.
- Preferably equipped with technical skills in programming or data analytics.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a similar field; advanced credentials such as an MBA or CFA designation are highly favored.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with fund managers and stakeholders.
- A keen interest in exploring how artificial intelligence can improve workflows, applying sound judgment in validation, policy alignment, and ethical use.

Compensation
The base salary range for this full-time position is between 145000 and 200000 USD annually, depending on role experience, qualifications, and location (New York or San Francisco). UBS also provides competitive benefits and may offer additional variable compensation or performance-based awards.
