Investment Manager - Early-Stage Deep Tech Venture Capital

It offers capital, strategic counsel, and extensive international networking to boost company growth.

In line with its expansion plans, the firm is looking to hire motivated Investment Managers. These professionals will work under senior investment team members, engaging actively throughout the investment process—from spotting emerging tech trends and sourcing deals to executing transactions and assisting portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and analyse novel technologies, innovations, and market trends to spot lucrative investment opportunities.
• Generate exclusive deal flow by cultivating relationships with founders, venture capitalists, research bodies, universities, accelerators, and the innovation ecosystem.
• Develop investment theses focused on emerging technologies and identify companies with significant commercial promise.
• Perform commercial, strategic, technical, and financial due diligence on investment prospects.
• Assess technology uniqueness, market potential, competitive landscape, business models, and risk-return profiles.
• Support transaction arrangements, valuation analyses, negotiation of investment terms, and deal execution with internal teams and external advisors.
• Prepare investment memoranda, financial assessments, and presentations for investment committee reviews.
• Oversee portfolio company performance and appraise strategic plans, financing efforts, and corporate events.
• Collaborate with founders and management to drive value creation, commercialization strategies, business growth, and sustainable enterprise expansion.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives including thematic research, sector analysis, and enhancing the firm's investment capabilities.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical fields.
• Strong academic achievements from respected universities; candidates holding Master's, PhD, or Postdoctoral qualifications from top global institutions are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Corporate Venture Capital, or technology investing; or at least 8 years of research, product development, or industrial experience in deep tech domains.
• Exceptional candidates with strong technical qualifications but lacking direct investment experience are encouraged to apply.
• Avid intellectual curiosity and passion for emerging technologies, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
• Robust analytical and critical thinking skills for evaluating complex technologies, markets, and business models.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, able to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong ownership and initiative.

Preferred Expertise and Attributes

• Knowledge or experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Software and Digital Infrastructure.
• Background in Robotics and Intelligent Automation.
• Exposure to Supply Chain Technologies.
• Expertise in Climate and Green Technologies.
• Insight into Advanced Manufacturing and Next-Gen Hardware.
• Understanding of Healthcare Technologies and Digital Health.

• Experience in early-stage venture capital or growth-stage investing.
• Having held founder or operational roles within high-growth tech companies.
• Hands-on experience in software engineering, AI, or product development.
• Capability to translate research or innovations into commercially successful products.
• Strong networks within global technology and innovation communities.

Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage for collaboration with regional founders, research entities, and commercial partners.
