Investment Director, DeFi Ecosystem

About the Role

YZi Labs is hiring an experienced Investment Director to drive investments in the DeFi ecosystem. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and managing opportunities across leading and newly emerging decentralized finance protocols, blockchain infrastructure businesses, and financial applications built on chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine an investment thesis covering major DeFi segments such as decentralized exchanges, lending products, and derivatives platforms.
• Research blockchain ecosystems in depth, with attention to Ethereum, Layer 2 networks, and Solana.
• Discover, screen, and assess potential investments using commercial and financial due diligence.
• Prepare investment memos and business cases, then present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Assist with deal structuring and closing processes for equity, token-based, and blended transaction structures.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or crypto investment roles.
• Solid expertise in financial modeling and valuation.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain technology and the DeFi landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous investing exposure in blockchain or fintech.
• Comfort using on-chain analytics tools such as Dune, Nansen, and Token Terminal.
• Active involvement in the crypto ecosystem.
