Role overview

UBS is hiring an experienced equity capital markets specialist with strong expertise in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The position sits within the ECM team and focuses on supporting both origination and execution for FIG clients.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of equity and equity-linked offerings for FIG clients, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, and convertible securities.
  • Work in close coordination with FIG coverage, syndicate, and sales partners to provide well-integrated capital markets solutions.
  • Run the full execution process on a day-to-day basis, including alignment and communication with internal teams and outside stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain relationships with senior clients across banks, insurers, asset managers, and specialty finance firms.
  • Support strategic advisory conversations related to capital efficiency, balance sheet management, and market positioning.
  • Coach and support more junior colleagues on the team.

Team environment

You will be part of the Global Equity Capital Markets team within the Investment Bank and will collaborate with FIG coverage teams across the Americas and other regions. The group works in a dynamic, client-focused, and highly collaborative setting, delivering innovative capital solutions.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in Equity Capital Markets with deep exposure to the FIG sector. A successful background in executing equity and equity-linked transactions is important, along with a solid understanding of capital markets, investor behavior, and regulatory factors. Existing relationships within the FIG ecosystem are preferred.

Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities are required, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The role also calls for clear leadership, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the composure to perform well under pressure.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

The indicative gross base salary for this full-time role in New York is USD 275,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skill level. UBS also provides competitive benefits and may, at its discretion, offer variable compensation or additional awards.
