Job description

Role overview

JPMorganChase is hiring an Investment Banking Analyst for its Equity Capital Markets team in San Francisco. This role sits within a leading capital markets franchise and focuses on supporting high-profile equity transactions while helping expand the firm’s execution platform and market presence.

What you will do

In this Analyst role, you will be involved in the end-to-end execution of equity capital markets transactions. The position offers exposure to live deals, close mentorship, practical learning, and ongoing feedback. You will collaborate with a global Analyst class and work with a larger regional team on active transactions, which may involve regular travel.

  • Support public equity fundraising transactions for corporate issuers, including IPOs and follow-on offerings.
  • Help senior bankers prepare client-facing materials such as pitches and request-for-proposal responses.
  • Coordinate with internal partners across coverage, sales and trading, syndicate, equity research, and legal functions.
  • Develop written insights and thought leadership pieces on equity capital markets and the technology sector.
  • Perform issuer analysis, including precedent deal review and shareholder targeting work.
  • Prepare presentation decks and internal committee memoranda ahead of transaction launches.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting, finance, quantitative work, and business writing, along with familiarity with capital markets and ECM execution. The role calls for excellent communication skills, confidence working with senior stakeholders and clients, and the ability to stay organized across multiple active assignments in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment. You should also be self-driven, highly motivated, and capable of working independently with accuracy.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, and professional writing.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and the equity capital markets execution process.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with senior colleagues, clients, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-starter mindset with the discipline to manage multiple projects and transactions accurately.
