This position is ideal for driven M&A Associates wanting to contribute to the well-established and high-performing Chemicals sector team based in Frankfurt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end transaction execution, managing the full process for mergers, acquisitions, equity or debt capital raises, and other corporate finance deals within the Chemicals industry.
  • Act as the principal client liaison, engaging regularly with chief executives, finance officers, and corporate development leads at both public and private client companies.
  • Create and deliver high-quality client presentations, including pitch decks, information memoranda, financial models, valuation analyses, and other relevant transaction documentation suitable for senior audiences.
  • Conduct financial analysis, lead valuation assignments using discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, and other relevant methods, and oversee due diligence to support decision-making on M&A or financing activities.
  • Assist or lead origination efforts by cultivating client relationships, identifying new mandates, and contributing to pitch strategies and outreach initiatives.
  • Supervise junior staff such as associates and analysts by reviewing their work products, ensuring quality control, managing deadlines, and coordinating workflow across multiple projects.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams spanning products and sector coverage to facilitate complex transactions requiring multi-product or cross-sector expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least four years of sell-side M&A deal execution experience from a reputable investment bank or boutique advisory firm, with focus on mid-market transactions.
  • Experience working with prominent Private Equity clients and understanding the distinct dynamics in this domain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills geared towards building strong rapport with diverse client groups and stakeholders.
  • Proven capability in mentoring and coaching junior colleagues, encouraging teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and the creativity needed to innovate successfully.
  • Familiarity or work experience in the Chemicals or Diversified Industrials sectors is advantageous.
