Job description

Role overview

An established mid-market investment bank in London is hiring an Analyst to join a busy and high-performing team. The role offers exposure to a varied pipeline of M&A transactions, fundraising assignments and strategic advisory work, with the chance to work closely with experienced senior bankers.

The team operates with lean staffing and strong deal momentum, so the successful candidate can expect meaningful responsibility early on and direct involvement in live transactions across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of M&A assignments, capital raising work and broader corporate finance mandates.
  • Develop, update and review financial models, valuation work and transaction-related materials.
  • Draft pitch books, Information Memoranda, management presentations and other client-facing documents.
  • Carry out financial, commercial and sector research to support active deals and new business efforts.
  • Partner with senior bankers across the full transaction process, from initial origination through to completion.

Experience and qualifications

  • Applicants should have 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or a closely related area.
  • Strong capability in financial analysis and modelling is essential, along with solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Exposure to M&A, fundraising, financial advisory or transaction services is advantageous.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills are needed, including the ability to explain complex financial ideas simply.
  • ACA qualification is preferred.
  • A strong academic record in finance, economics or a similar subject is expected.
  • The role suits someone who is highly driven, detail-focused and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience in investment banking, M&A/corporate finance roles at Big 4 or boutique firms, or transaction services with private equity deal exposure will be considered.

Additional information

This opportunity is designed for an ambitious Analyst looking to join a respected investment bank, work on prominent transactions and build a strong career in a collaborative and entrepreneurial setting with excellent deal flow and progression prospects.
