Job description
About the Company
This international investment bank specializes in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services within the financial services sector. The founding team possesses extensive experience in investment banking and operations, having advised on numerous sector transactions. The firm is regulated in both the United Kingdom and United States.
Role Overview
As an Analyst, you will work closely with senior bankers on live deals from the outset, avoiding the hierarchical layering common in larger organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage various valuation and financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), trading comparables, transaction comparables, leveraged buyout (LBO), accretion/dilution analyses, and capital structure assessments.
- Develop pitch decks, information memoranda, management presentations, and materials for board meetings.
- Conduct research on companies, markets, and competitors to underpin deal origination and execution.
- Assist with due diligence efforts, oversight of data rooms, and managing buyer and investor relationships.
- Monitor trends, transactions, and developments across the insurance and insurtech sectors.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in financial institutions group (FIG) mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong capability in financial modeling and valuation methodologies, with keen attention to detail.
- Exhibit sound commercial judgment and the ability to independently manage tasks under tight deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and succinctly, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain the utmost discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive, confidential information.
Preferred backgrounds include analysts from large multinational or boutique M&A advisory firms, professionals from Big 4 M&A, corporate finance, transaction services, or valuations teams seeking to transition into pure advisory roles. Experience specifically in insurance M&A is highly advantageous, though broader FIG exposure is also valuable.
Additional Information
Due to lean team structures, analysts have significant responsibility early on and gain direct exposure to clients and counterparties.
