Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is with a specialist technology-focused investment manager that backs fast-growing businesses through venture capital and private equity. The firm has already invested capital from two technology funds and is now moving into a new stage of expansion. In addition to managing and exiting current holdings, it is also introducing a perpetual investment vehicle aimed at continually investing in emerging technology businesses.

The business is also broadening its footprint overseas through a newly launched offshore multi-asset platform, with plans to open offices in London and Singapore to support global investment activity. For an ambitious analyst, this is a rare chance to join the investment team at an important moment in the firm’s growth.

Compared with many larger private equity houses where junior employees are confined to narrow tasks, this position provides exposure to the whole investment journey — from fundraising and deal sourcing to execution, portfolio management and exits.

What you will do

  • Evaluate potential technology investments through financial analysis and valuation work.
  • Build financial models and draft materials for investment committee review.
  • Carry out commercial, strategic and financial due diligence.
  • Research industries, thematic trends and market dynamics.
  • Support deal execution for acquisitions and new investments.
  • Track portfolio performance, prepare financial reports and analyse business results.
  • Help portfolio companies with strategic projects and growth initiatives.
  • Assist with fundraising work and investor communications.
  • Prepare presentations and other materials for investors, boards and internal teams.
  • Support exit planning and execution for mature investments.
  • Use AI tools to work more efficiently while still applying sound judgement and critical thinking in investment analysis.

The typical investment opportunity will be in technology businesses with enterprise values of roughly $10 million to $150 million, and the firm often takes majority stakes.

Why this role stands out

This is a genuinely broad investing position. Rather than focusing only on transaction modelling, you will be involved in raising capital, originating opportunities, executing investments, working with founders and management teams, supporting portfolio growth, and contributing to exit and strategy decisions. It is well suited to someone who wants to develop into a rounded investor instead of specialising in just one part of private equity.

International exposure

As the platform expands globally, team members regularly travel to meet portfolio companies, management teams, investors and advisers. Recent travel has included the United States and London, and future activity is expected to increase across Asia, Europe and North America. Travel to the US and London may be required to help portfolio companies grow.

Candidate profile

The employer is seeking applicants with around 2 to 4 years of experience, ideally from one of the following backgrounds: investment banking (M&A), boutique corporate finance, private equity, Big 4 corporate finance or transaction services, or corporate development.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical ability, advanced financial modelling skills, commercial curiosity, excellent attention to detail, a real interest in investing, a proactive and self-directed working style, and the flexibility to contribute wherever the business needs support. The role will suit someone entrepreneurial, comfortable in a fast-growing environment, and excited by early responsibility and varied work.

Interview process

The final stage of hiring includes an on-site investment case study. Candidates will need to complete a model and take part in a Q&A discussion.
