Role Overview

We are searching for an Investment Analyst to contribute to our Investment Origination team. The role offers comprehensive exposure to the full private equity investment lifecycle by supporting senior team members in Toronto and Dubai. The analyst will assist in transaction execution, financial modeling, due diligence, preparing investment committee materials, and driving value creation within critical minerals and infrastructure investments. This position suits early-career professionals with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in private equity within an entrepreneurial environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and update detailed financial models including valuations, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to inform risk and return assessments.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities across technical, financial, and commercial areas supporting transaction execution.
  • Organize review of diligence documentation and synthesize findings to aid internal decision-making processes.
  • Manage virtual data rooms for sell-side processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment committee materials such as analyses, presentations, and supporting reports.
  • Contribute toward drafting investment memoranda and related documentation.
  • Conduct sector-specific research and competitive landscape assessments for critical minerals and infrastructure sectors.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry databases and market intelligence to support investment evaluation and portfolio oversight.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and portfolio management teams to assist in value creation strategies.
  • Support monitoring of portfolio company performance and strategic initiatives as required.
  • Assist with preparing presentations for capital raising, investor communications, and strategic stakeholder interactions.
  • Engage in special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in business, commerce, mathematics, engineering, or science.
  • Between 1 and 3 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, consulting, or relevant mining industry roles is preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge or strong interest in energy transition, metals and mining, metal processing, processing infrastructure, or industrials sectors.
  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail and capability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Robust quantitative and analytical capabilities with the ability to clearly distill complex information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with financial data platforms such as Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
  • Strong passion for principal investing and private equity with creative strategic thinking and superior written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this Investment Analyst role is $90,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on candidate experience.
