Job description
Role Overview
This fixed-term contract position is with Google, focusing on conducting investigations related to the company's extended workforce policies. The contract extends until July 1, 2027, with possible location options including New York, NY, and Playa Vista, CA. The investigator will uphold Google's core values by ensuring fairness and compliance through thorough reviews of allegations concerning policy violations impacting Google's extended workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed investigations and manage grievance procedures relating to breaches of Google's HR policies, extended workforce guidelines, and codes of conduct.
- Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with Employment Legal, Employee Relations, Regulatory Affairs, and Security Investigation teams.
- Provide insights on risks and trend analyses to various product teams and Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) to assist in mitigating risks.
- Identify and elevate high-risk situations or issues of supplier non-compliance to relevant teams including Procurement, xWS, and Employment Legal.
- Accurately prepare, document, and maintain investigation records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 7 years’ experience in employee relations or investigations, whether in an HR Business Partner role, Employee Relations Advisor, or as an employment law attorney.
- Proficient in advising and consulting with both employees and management, applying policies, legal expertise, and investigative interview methods.
- Preferred experience includes creating best practices for investigation protocols, HR compliance, and handling employee relations with knowledge of employment law and ethics.
- Proven ability in program and project management, demonstrating leadership and stakeholder influence in multiple workflows.
- Strong communication skills to effectively articulate recommendations both verbally and in writing, along with teamwork and diplomatic capabilities for working across internal and external teams.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is from $141,000 to $206,000 USD annually, plus a 15% bonus target. Compensation will be determined by relevant skills, education, and experience.
