Position Overview
The Investigative Aide supports the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office by carrying out administrative work and uniformed security-related duties that help protect office facilities, personnel, clients, and visitors. The role includes camera surveillance, emergency response support, identification badge processing, operational tasks, database searches, and research work to find identified individuals by collecting, organizing, and reviewing relevant information.

Compensation
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $20.25 to $23.31 per hour. The full pay range is $20.25 to $32.50 per hour. Final salary depends on the candidate’s comparable experience and internal pay alignment within the same job classification. Overtime is paid for all hours worked beyond 40 in the designated workweek.

What the Role Involves
- Build, organize, and review detailed case and information files using gathered records and data.
- Complete clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and operating office equipment.
- Protect the privacy and security of confidential records and information.
- Observe security cameras and other monitoring systems.
- Create, program, issue, and manage identification badges.
- Check badges when needed to manage access and stop unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
- Conduct foot patrols and mobile patrols in assigned locations.
- Carry out emergency procedures as directed or when required.
- Provide basic first aid and CPR during medical incidents.
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing packages and deliveries.
- Prepare incident logs, reports, and other required documentation.
- Assist department staff, the public, and outside agencies with requests for reports, records, and information.
- Handle other assigned duties as needed.
Working Conditions
The position requires a mix of prolonged sitting for computer and paperwork tasks, standing, and continuous walking. Work may include frequent interruptions, time-sensitive demands, and heavy workloads. The schedule may involve off-shifts and flexible hours, and an alternative schedule of four 10-hour days (4/10s) is available. Travel between county locations using a personal or county vehicle is required. The job also involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 pounds from the floor to waist level and pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds up to 100 feet, along with duties tied to public safety functions.
Selection Process

Successful candidates must pass a background check and/or fingerprint investigation as required by law or policy, including drug and alcohol testing for positions designated as safety-sensitive.
Additional Requirements
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office requires a thorough background check for all selected candidates and may test prospective employees for illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing occurs after an offer has been made and before placement.
Requirements

Other Requirements
- A valid Arizona driver’s license must be held by the time of hire, or the candidate must be able to obtain one.
- Ability to obtain Criminal Justice Information System Network Terminal Operator Certification (TOC) Level B within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in security and/or law enforcement.
- Current or former Arizona DPS Security Guard License and/or AZPOST certification.
