Job description
Position Summary
This role is for a detail-oriented, data-minded, and process-focused inventory and vendor operations professional who will help build, refine, and manage inventory controls across the organization. The position is centered on improving accuracy, tightening supplier collaboration, streamlining workflows, and enabling better decisions through operational data.
The right candidate will be responsible for keeping inventory processes reliable, nurturing vendor relationships, finding opportunities to reduce costs, and helping ensure clinics and patients have steady access to quality products and prescriptions at competitive pricing.
Inventory Management & Operations
- Create, roll out, and maintain inventory control procedures, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics.
- Track stock levels, movement, usage, and accuracy across multiple clinic locations and systems.
- Review, record, and resolve inventory differences, loss, and process-related inconsistencies.
- Assist with demand forecasting, replenishment planning, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Make sure inventory practices follow company policies, operational expectations, and accepted industry standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve inventory transparency, efficiency, and scalability.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, wholesalers, and pharmacy partners.
- Source, assess, and onboard new vendors using due diligence and qualification steps.
- Negotiate pricing, service terms, delivery timelines, and product availability to improve value and efficiency.
- Review vendor performance and suggest improvements or alternate sourcing options when needed.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Study purchasing and inventory data to uncover patterns, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide leaders with useful operational insight.
- Spot opportunities to simplify and improve processes, then implement solutions that can scale with the business.
- Collaborate with Operations, Medical, Finance, and Compliance teams to improve inventory workflows and purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, procurement, vendor management, or operations.
- Strong ability to analyze information, solve problems, and think critically.
- Hands-on experience improving or building operational processes.
- Capability to manage vendor partnerships and negotiate commercial terms effectively.
- Exposure to pharmacy sourcing, wholesaler relationships, healthcare operations, or other regulated inventory settings.
- Comfort using inventory systems, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in inventory audits and reconciliation work.
- Understanding of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated inventory environments.
- Experience creating KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports.
- History of contributing to continuous improvement and process optimization efforts.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations or distributed inventory setups.
