Job description
About the Role
Brose Ventures, the corporate venture capital unit of Brose SE, is looking for an intern to join its Berlin team. The role sits at the crossroads of venture capital, deep technology, and industry, offering direct contact with founders, startup leaders, and deal activity.
The team invests in forward-looking startups that are developing new solutions for mobility, industrial technology, and emerging business models. Investment themes include automotive technologies, artificial intelligence, software, robotics, automation, and industrial deep tech.
You will be involved across the investment lifecycle, support strategic venture initiatives, and help shape new programs such as a startup accelerator. This is a fully integrated team role, with meaningful ownership rather than a passive student position.
Key Responsibilities
- Search for promising early-stage technology startups, assess them, and help narrow the pipeline, with emphasis on seed and Series A companies.
- Assist with investment work and due diligence, including analyses of markets, competitors, and business models, as well as startup evaluations.
- Build and update market and technology insights across the team’s focus areas, including AI, robotics, mobility, and industrial tech.
- Support the creation and rollout of a new Brose Venture Accelerator Program, including startup investments linked to the program.
- Communicate with founders and take part in startup events, demo days, and sector conferences.
- Maintain shortlists, longlists, venture databases, and CRM systems such as PitchBook, Crunchbase, and Affinity.
- Help with internal and external communication, marketing activities, and ecosystem-related initiatives.
Candidate Profile
The company is seeking ambitious, curious, and highly self-driven students who want to take responsibility and learn quickly.
- You are currently enrolled in studies related to business, economics, engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar discipline.
- You have some prior exposure to venture capital, consulting, technology startups, automotive, technology, or finance.
- You are strong in analysis and work in a well-structured, independent manner.
- You show initiative, curiosity, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- You are confident using MS Office; familiarity with VC databases such as PitchBook or Crunchbase and CRM tools is an advantage.
- You communicate very well in both German and English, in speaking and writing.
- You must remain enrolled as a student for the full duration of the role.
Additional Information
The role is based in Berlin and follows an onsite working model.
Brose emphasizes a modern working environment and flexible working hours. The position offers direct involvement in venture capital deals, strong visibility from the start, frequent contact with founders and senior startup executives, and a steep learning curve across venture capital, strategy, and mobility. It is also positioned as a strong credential for future careers in VC, private equity, consulting, or investment banking.
No separate stipend or salary amount was provided.
No vacancy count, start date, or internship duration was specified.
This role is presented as a full-time position.
Applicants are expected to be continuously enrolled as students during the employment period.
The employer notes that this is not a pure research assignment and that the internship includes real responsibility from day one.
