Role Overview

We seek an International Schools Consultant based in Nairobi to promote and grow Hachette Learning’s educational products throughout East Africa over a two-year fixed term. The role involves cultivating relationships with educational professionals, expanding market presence, and collaborating across teams to achieve sales targets and broaden impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain connections with Heads of Departments, teachers, and curriculum advisors within the region.
• Report relevant information about new and current distributors to the International Sales Manager to support business growth.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of our complete product catalog, including Cambridge, IB, HL Publications, HL Adaptive, and Academy lines, to effectively promote offerings.
• Drive sales growth across East Africa, striving to meet or surpass budget and forecast expectations.
• Address challenges with customers tactfully and manage sensitive situations professionally.
• Travel extensively—up to 14 weeks annually—to visit schools and promote resources.
• Conduct visits to international and English-medium schools for one-on-one meetings, presentations, and book displays.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for new markets, agents, and customers to enhance market share.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Brand, Customer Success, and Schools Relationship teams.
• Participate actively in company meetings and conferences.

Experience and Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience managing travel budgets and planning trips.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative customer service skills.
• Presentation capabilities suitable for diverse audiences.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
• Background in education, publishing, or sales is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and business growth effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

Remuneration starts at 2,160,000 Kenyan Shillings per annum, with variations based on experience. Additional benefits include:

Work Location and Arrangement
