Role overview
Etsy is hiring an Accountant to join its Accounting Team in Dublin. The position supports the company’s continued growth by delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and maintaining a reliable internal control framework. The role combines strong accounting knowledge with business judgment and supports Etsy’s mission and values.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior International Finance Manager. Compensation includes a salary, an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and employee benefits as part of the overall rewards package.
The role requires working from Etsy’s Dublin office once or twice a week, depending on how close the candidate lives to the office. Candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance may be considered first.
Team environment
The International Accounting team supports Etsy’s wider financial operations and works closely with multiple business functions. The group contributes to projects that improve efficiency, precision, and scalability. Team members are collaborative, detail-focused, and committed to ongoing improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Handle daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting work for international entities.
- Oversee US GAAP accounting and statutory compliance for several Etsy subsidiaries outside the US.
- Own the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal reporting for international entities.
- Lead statutory compliance activities, including audits and the preparation of financial statements in line with local legal requirements.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis for each subsidiary.
- Improve processes through standardization, automation, process redesign, and the use of AI-enabled tools to increase speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Work with international business teams, SEC reporting partners, treasury on banking and liquidity matters, and payroll to ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed, with duties subject to change at Etsy’s discretion and in line with applicable local law.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or an equivalent credential.
- About 1 year of post-qualification experience in a similar setting.
- Solid background in financial accounting with strong practical knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience using ERP systems; Workday experience is a plus.
- Strong organization, adaptability, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take work through to completion, meet commitments, and ask for support when appropriate.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships in a distributed team.
- Detail-oriented mindset with an interest in continuous improvement, new technologies, and AI-enabled working methods.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is €52,000 to €68,000 per year. In addition to base pay, the package includes equity, an annual performance bonus, and competitive benefits for employees and their families.
