Role overview
Aspris is seeking an Internal Investigations Officer to carry out thorough, fair, and high-standard internal investigations. The position focuses on ensuring investigations meet regulatory expectations, working alongside regulatory bodies, and maintaining effective relationships with external investigation partners.
You will take charge of impartial, evidence-based reviews into incidents, allegations, and quality concerns across the organisation. Your work will need to result in clear findings, well-supported conclusions, and practical recommendations that help improve practice and assure quality.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and complete internal investigations to a consistently high professional standard.
- Review investigation reports prepared by internal providers and check them for quality and accuracy.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with external investigation partners.
- Coordinate the organisation’s response to regulatory enquiries, audits, and inspections.
- Act as a main contact for regulatory communication and assurance-related activity.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience carrying out impartial internal investigations linked to safeguarding, whistleblowing, or quality standards.
- Experience in children’s social care, residential care, education, or safeguarding and quality-focused roles.
- Safeguarding Level 3 qualification or above, along with Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
- Strong analytical ability, including the capacity to pull together complex evidence into clear conclusions and actions.
- Confidence in planning and running structured interviews and producing detailed, high-quality written reports.
- Good understanding of safeguarding principles, risk management, and child-centred practice.
Working arrangement
This is mainly a remote position, but regular travel will be required to services and offices across England, Scotland, and Wales.
