Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Compliance Specialist to lead internal and supplier audits along with external audit preparations. This position involves managing compliance gap analyses, tracking regulatory changes, and assisting in compliance risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assigned internal audits to ensure timely completion of audit cycles.
  • Support readiness efforts for external audits by offering training and guidance to staff.
  • Identify compliance risks and develop strategies to address gaps, prioritizing and monitoring their resolution.
  • Guide subject matter experts in remediating compliance shortcomings.
  • Assist in overseeing the near miss program to improve safety outcomes.
  • Keep abreast of changes to regulations and industry standards, assess their impact, and communicate relevant updates internally.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze compliance metrics and data.
  • Promote quality and compliance awareness through training and communication within the division.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours commitments such as training, meetings, and industry events.
  • Attend departmental meetings to facilitate ongoing feedback and improvements.
  • Adhere to ISO standards and internal quality policies to meet business quality goals.
  • Follow occupational health, safety, and environmental policies to minimize risk and exposure for all employees.
  • Consistently wear provided personal protective equipment and report any incidents promptly.
  • Comply with employment legislation, health and safety requirements, and company-wide policies at all times.
  • Uphold Abbott's Code of Business Conduct and embody company values: pioneering, achieving, caring, and enduring.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Abbott standard operating procedures and ensure adherence.
  • Conduct all activities with integrity, complying with all relevant laws, ethical standards, and company policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field or a comparable mix of education and experience.
  • At least five years’ experience in quality assurance, internal auditing, or compliance management.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, decisive problem-solving, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and consulting capabilities.
  • Highly organized and proficient with technology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable technical and local regulatory requirements.
