Internal Audit Specialist

Overview

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) International Payments Limited (NIPL) is looking for experienced professionals to join as Internal Auditors. NPCI is a not-for-profit entity initiated by RBI and Indian Banks Association to provide leading digital payment infrastructure. The subsidiary NIPL focuses on global adoption of NPCI payment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk-based internal audits across financial, operational, compliance, and IT domains following the approved annual plan.
• Create audit plans, programs, and detailed testing procedures.
• Conduct process walkthroughs, control testing, and substantive audits to identify weaknesses.
• Detect control deficiencies, analyze root causes, and recommend enhancements.
• Handle ad-hoc audit projects as they arise.
• Assess internal control effectiveness and compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
• Develop clear and informative audit reports offering actionable recommendations.
• Engage with process owners and management to align on findings.
• Monitor and follow up on management actions and audit committee responses ensuring timely resolution.
• Prepare and deliver audit outcomes presentations to senior leadership and audit committees.
• Offer advisory support for process improvements, system implementations, and new initiatives while maintaining audit independence.
• Assist ongoing improvement of internal audit methodologies.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in internal audit, preferably within Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
• Experience with Big 4 firms or consulting backgrounds is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
• Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Comfortable leveraging AI/ML tools to enable data-driven decision-making and optimize processes.
