Role Summary

As a full-time, on-site Intermediate Costing Estimator based in Bankstown, you will craft detailed cost estimates for the supply, fabrication, and installation of stone products. Core duties involve analyzing project drawings, performing site measurements, and aligning with client requirements. Daily responsibilities include tender document review, architectural plan interpretation, collecting and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations, and constructing comprehensive cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, and logistics.

Additional tasks encompass updating pricing databases, producing formal quotations and variation proposals, and cooperating closely with sales, production, and project management to verify project feasibility and profitability margins. You will monitor job expenses against estimates, detect cost variances, and suggest enhancements to estimation procedures to optimize efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven background in construction or fabrication estimating, preferably in stone, joinery, or related trades.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software, project management tools, and advanced MS Excel use for cost analysis and reporting.
• Excellent numerical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills for developing precise cost models.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal, essential for preparing quotations and stakeholder interactions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities to manage multiple quotes and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and trade practices; familiarity with stone products preferred.
• Capacity to work on-site and collaborate with internal production and installation teams in Bankstown.
• Educational background in construction management, quantity surveying, estimating, or a related discipline is advantageous.
• Experience at an intermediate estimator level or similar roles in construction or manufacturing sectors.
