Intermediate Business Analyst - ServiceNow Governance and Risk Management

About the Role

Russell Tobin & Associates is recruiting for a valued client in the public sector seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst with expertise in ServiceNow governance, risk, and compliance modules. This contract role, based in Toronto, ON, requires onsite presence three days a week and spans at least 12 months with potential extension. The hourly rate ranges from CAD $70 to $80.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyze business requirements, creating user stories and process maps, particularly related to ServiceNow modules such as GRC, IRM, CMDB, APM, or TPM.
• Develop detailed business requirements documents, functional specs, and use cases with clear acceptance criteria alongside maintaining requirements traceability matrices.
• Design and map workflows and business processes to detect operational inefficiencies and system gaps.
• Analyze system integrations, dependencies, and interface requirements to optimize configurations.
• Define key performance indicators, scorecards, compliance metrics, and generate executive-level reports and dashboards.
• Validate data through mapping and testing procedures to ensure accurate analytics and reporting.
• Support comprehensive testing life cycles including creation of test scenarios, defect analysis, and facilitate User Acceptance Testing while upholding compliance and security standards.
• Engage strong stakeholder management and facilitation to bridge communication between technical teams and business units effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in business requirements gathering and documentation for ServiceNow Governance, Risk & Compliance, Integrated Risk Management, and related modules.
• Deep understanding of compliance processes including attestation, certification, audit, risk management, and governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow platform workflows, performance analytics, reporting functions, dashboards, and overall capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills to navigate complex projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation capabilities to align technical and business perspectives.
