Role overview

The Interior Design Manager will be responsible for choosing, coordinating, and overseeing the installation of decorative features for the Ralph Lauren Architecture and Design Studio. Working closely with the studio team, this role helps shape and deliver decorative elements that reflect the brand across retail environments, while also bringing strong design judgment and project management capability.

The position is focused on creating elevated retail spaces and ensuring projects are delivered with efficiency and operational discipline.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and share fresh design ideas using inspiration boards and presentation materials.
  • Identify, source, and choose decorative pieces that fit the brand’s visual language.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of decorative items, from purchase through final installation.
  • Partner with architecture, store design, merchandising, and visual merchandising teams to keep projects aligned.
  • Keep organized records of decorative materials, references, and project specifications.
  • Manage decorative setup for new store openings and renovation work.
  • Prepare and track project budgets.
  • Develop productive supplier relationships to support value-driven sourcing.

Requirements

  • Background in interior design through formal education, work experience, or both.
  • At least 3 full strategic performance cycles of experience in interior design, store development, luxury retail, or high-end residential work.
  • Strong organizational ability and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Comfort interpreting architectural and construction drawings.
  • Ability to visualize and plan space layouts effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SketchUp is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to source, assess, and select decorative materials and elements.
  • Confidence in managing budgets responsibly.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work well across teams.
