Role Overview

The Talent Set is pleased to collaborate with a prominent health charity to offer an interim leadership opportunity as Head of Content Strategy. This part-time role, requiring three days per week until June 2027, centers on crafting and guiding the charity’s content ecosystem with an emphasis on storytelling to boost brand visibility and audience engagement across diverse platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and spearhead a unified content strategy in line with the organisation’s mission, brand essence, and narrative objectives.
  • Establish content frameworks, thematic pillars, and storytelling elements to reinforce recall and elevate the charity’s reputation in targeted areas.
  • Innovate an audio-first content methodology, including podcasts and on-demand media, aiming to broaden accessibility and audience reach.
  • Provide expertise on governance models for content creation, validation, and dissemination to maintain uniformity and oversight.
  • Oversee the content ecosystem management, integrating live and digital content and harmonising different formats such as audio and text.
  • Partner with stakeholders to determine and promote core topics and themes that raise the organisation’s prominence.
  • Lead and support a team through transformational phases, offering guidance and fostering development.
  • Undertake an extensive initial evaluation of current content procedures and plan strategically for enhancements starting January.
  • Conduct workshops and strategy sessions, occasionally requiring physical presence, to cultivate organisational understanding and consensus.

Person Specification

  • Vast experience in devising content strategies and managing content ecosystems.
  • Prior involvement in the charity or health sectors is essential.
  • Capable of leading change management and supervising teams amid transitions.
  • In-depth familiarity with content governance, control measures, and workflow processes.
  • Proven track record in multi-channel content development focused on storytelling to advance brand recognition.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strategic thinker who adeptly balances high-level planning with practical execution.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Experience in delivering workshops, training sessions, and comprehensive strategic reviews.

Compensation and Conditions

The position offers a pro-rated salary equating to £70,000 annually based on three working days per week, continuing until the end of June 2027. The work is primarily remote but requires occasional travel for workshops and meetings.
