About the Role

Join Queensland’s Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business to contribute positively to the state’s future. In the role of Intake and Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for evaluating matters of suspected corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures, providing critical support and advice surrounding ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and assessments of suspected corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures, adhering strictly to relevant laws, standards, and departmental guidelines.
  • Refer cases appropriately to the Crime and Corruption Commission to ensure alignment with the Crime and Corruption Act 2001 and departmental procedures.
  • Assist in the management of public interest disclosures under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010, following legislative and internal standards.
  • Maintain oversight of ethical standards cases, managing shared mailboxes, file organization, and case registration systems efficiently.
  • Provide confidential and discreet support and guidance on ethical standards issues including corrupt conduct, disclosures, and conflict of interest concerns.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience working within an ethical standards or similar function handling employee conduct-related matters.
  • Motivated team player capable of supporting the Ethical Standards unit effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, adept at engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Competent in working independently and collaboratively towards resolving ethical issues.
  • Knowledgeable of Queensland legislation governing ethical standards including handling corrupt conduct, public interest disclosures, and conflicts of interest.
