About SquareTrade

SquareTrade, operating as Allstate Protection Plans, is a rapidly expanding company reshaping a $30B market through service-led innovation and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The company works with major retail and carrier partners such as Walmart, Target, Amazon, Costco, and The Home Depot. It has received multiple industry awards, earned tens of thousands of 5-star reviews, and continues to scale. As part of the Allstate family, SquareTrade is headquartered in the Bay Area and London and is growing across Europe and Asia Pacific, including Japan, Australia, Korea, and Thailand.

Role Overview

The Service Strategy & Operations team is hiring a highly analytical Insights Analyst with strong technical capabilities. This person will use data, automation, and business intelligence tools to improve operational visibility, reduce repetitive analysis, and surface issues that affect customer experience and operational performance. The focus is on building scalable reporting, monitoring, and alerting systems so problems can be detected and addressed earlier.

The right candidate is comfortable working through ambiguity, uses structured thinking to solve complex problems, and collaborates across teams to improve how issues are identified, tracked, and resolved. A strong interest in automation, continuous improvement, and using technology to make operations smarter and more efficient is important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain automated reporting, monitoring, and alerting solutions that improve visibility into operational results, customer experience trends, and system health.
  • Build scalable “early warning” workflows that surface service defects, operational breakdowns, and customer experience risks before they grow into larger issues.
  • Automate recurring analysis and manual investigation work through reporting platforms, workflow automation tools, AI-enabled solutions, and business intelligence systems.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and visual visuals that support operational decisions and performance management.
  • Work with Product, Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams to define measurement methods and track the effect of operational changes.
  • Track operational and customer experience metrics to spot trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to uncover patterns, root causes, and practical recommendations that improve business results.
  • Build reporting tools that combine data across systems and give stakeholders easier access to meaningful insights.
  • Support investigations into operational, customer, and system issues using automated reporting, dashboards, and monitoring tools.
  • Look for opportunities to use tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot agents, Salesforce reporting, or similar technologies to improve efficiency and insight generation.
  • Contribute to major projects and continuous improvement efforts by providing analytical support, technical knowledge, and measurement frameworks.
  • Help develop analytical best practices and may provide informal support or mentorship to junior analysts.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in analytics, operations, consulting, systems analysis, or a related area, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Proven background in automating reporting, analytical workflows, or operational processes that improved efficiency or business outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards, reporting solutions, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Strong Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  • Solid understanding of customer journey analytics, such as claims or service operations, and the ability to independently investigate complex customer issues.
  • Experience turning business needs into scalable reporting, automation, or monitoring solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work through ambiguous and complex situations.
  • Experience collaborating across functions and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Excel, or comparable analytics and visualization tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Enjoys solving recurring business problems through automation.
  • Passionate about improving operational processes using technology and data.
  • Analytical thinker who can explain the what, why, how, and when, backed by data.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, highly dynamic environment.
  • Able to balance technical problem-solving with practical business needs.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Driven to make an impact and persistent in getting to the outcome.
  • Strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

SquareTrade estimates the base pay for this U.S. role at $80,000 to $110,000 per year.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with network flexibility plus access to an HSA or FSA.
  • Up to 4% company match in the 401(k) plan and contributions to a company-sponsored pension.
  • $75 per month wellness budget to support physical wellbeing.
  • $80 per month connectivity stipend.
  • Mental health support including free 1:1 therapy, coaching sessions, and digital resources.
  • Supportive leave policies.
  • Flexible Time Off in addition to 9 company holidays.

  • Hybrid work arrangements with regular team gatherings and offsites.
  • Various corporate discounts and perks.
