Role overview
The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a maritime charity focused on helping young people grow through challenge, adventure, and learning. It also supports seafarers and maritime professionals in building skills and progressing their careers. The organisation is expanding its reach and is looking for a Support Administrator to help with the Inshore Boating function.
Position summary
This permanent part-time role is based at Weymouth National Boat Centre, Dorset, DT4 8TZ, with a hybrid working arrangement. The post is for 21 hours per week. The salary is £13,914 per year on a pro rata basis, equivalent to £23,190 full-time.

Main purpose of the role
The Inshore Boating Support Administrator will help maintain the systems, processes, and policy administration that underpin on-the-water activities. The role also involves handling day-to-day correspondence and supporting the Inshore Boating team with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Respond to queries received by email, post, and telephone, and direct them to the right place when needed.
- Keep records for boats and equipment across the charity accurate and up to date.
- Handle and monitor data so trends can be reviewed and understood.
- Assist with maintaining personal records where required.
- Provide administrative support to the Head and Assistant Head of Inshore Boating.
- Support wider administrative work within the learning directorate.
Requirements
- Confident use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Office 365, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Previous experience working with Oracle-based databases.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a flexible, innovative service environment.
- Good at engaging, persuading, and motivating colleagues and volunteers.
- Experience building and maintaining business-to-business relationships.
