Overview
We are looking for a dependable, well-organized, and tech-savvy Filling Station Site Manager to supervise the daily functions of our petrol station. This role requires someone with strong leadership abilities, experience in managing staff, and a solid understanding of Information Technology to optimize operations.
Key Duties
- Oversee and coordinate daily activities of the filling station.
- Directly supervise station attendants and various site personnel.
- Ensure adherence to proper procedures for station opening and closing each day.
- Track fuel sales, monitor pump readings, inventory levels, and deliveries.
- Maintain precise records of daily sales, expenses, cash flow, stock, and operational tasks.
- Perform reconciliation of sales, cash collections, POS payments, transfers, and other financial transactions.
- Report fuel shortages, discrepancies, or irregularities promptly.
- Verify operational status of pumps, generators, POS terminals, computers, CCTV, and other equipment.
- Utilize computer software, spreadsheets, digital reporting, and management tools to enhance record keeping and operational efficiency.
- Generate and submit regular reports – daily, weekly, monthly – on station operations to management.
- Apply basic IT techniques to improve monitoring, reporting, communication, and overall station management.
- Ensure exceptional customer service, quickly addressing any complaints.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, orderliness, and professionalism throughout the station.
- Ensure staff comply with company policies, work schedules, safety protocols, and operational directives.
- Track attendance, punctuality, performance, and behavior of all station employees.
- Identify and recommend solutions for operational challenges.
- Collaborate with management to boost sales, minimize losses, and improve operational efficiency.
- Protect company assets including funds, fuel supplies, equipment, and facilities.
- Alert management immediately to suspected theft, fraud, stock variances, equipment malfunctions, or security breaches.
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance and liaise with technicians or service providers as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of at least an HND or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
- Proficient in computer usage including Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and digital reporting tools.
- Ability to employ technology to organize and monitor station operations efficiently.
- Previous experience in managing retail outlets, filling stations, or operational sites is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills.
- Capability to manage personnel and uphold discipline in the workplace.
- Competence in numerical tasks and record maintenance.
- High degree of integrity, accountability, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Independent working capability with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with inventory control, cash reconciliation, and business reporting will be beneficial.
- Readiness to live in company-provided housing when required.
