Role overview
This opportunity is for a Technical Business Analyst with solid cybersecurity experience to take the lead on defining requirements for a Managed SOC procurement. The position centres on creating a detailed catalogue of business and technical needs and helping shape vendor assessment and the RFP process.
What the role involves
- Gathering in-depth business and technical requirements for a Managed SOC solution.
- Preparing organised documentation covering business needs, functional and non-functional needs, and service/operating model requirements.
- Making sure requirements are well defined, traceable, and formally approved by stakeholders.
- Running workshops with Cyber Security, TechOps, and other relevant teams to align expectations and priorities.
- Helping the business reach agreement on standards, priorities, and scope.
- Questioning and refining inputs to reduce ambiguity and avoid unnecessary scope expansion.
- Supporting vendor evaluation by helping design scoring models and assessment criteria.
- Reviewing supplier responses and mapping them back to the documented requirements.
- Highlighting gaps, risks, and key trade-offs in vendor proposals.
- Assisting with the preparation of the complete RFP package.
- Ensuring procurement documents are written clearly so vendors can respond effectively.
- Supporting clarification rounds during the procurement cycle.
- Maintaining strong documentation control, traceability, decision logs, evaluation outputs, and audit evidence.
Required experience and skills
- Background as a Business Analyst within security or SOC-related programmes.
- Hands-on experience leading requirements workshops and producing detailed documentation.
- Exposure to RFP activities, vendor evaluation, or procurement support.
- Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.
Desirable experience
- Knowledge of SIEM, MDR, SOC operations, or threat monitoring.
- Familiarity with enterprise security tools and platforms.
- Experience in large and complex organisations.
