Role overview

This opportunity is for a Technical Business Analyst with solid cybersecurity experience to take the lead on defining requirements for a Managed SOC procurement. The position centres on creating a detailed catalogue of business and technical needs and helping shape vendor assessment and the RFP process.

What the role involves

  • Gathering in-depth business and technical requirements for a Managed SOC solution.
  • Preparing organised documentation covering business needs, functional and non-functional needs, and service/operating model requirements.
  • Making sure requirements are well defined, traceable, and formally approved by stakeholders.
  • Running workshops with Cyber Security, TechOps, and other relevant teams to align expectations and priorities.
  • Helping the business reach agreement on standards, priorities, and scope.
  • Questioning and refining inputs to reduce ambiguity and avoid unnecessary scope expansion.
  • Supporting vendor evaluation by helping design scoring models and assessment criteria.
  • Reviewing supplier responses and mapping them back to the documented requirements.
  • Highlighting gaps, risks, and key trade-offs in vendor proposals.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the complete RFP package.
  • Ensuring procurement documents are written clearly so vendors can respond effectively.
  • Supporting clarification rounds during the procurement cycle.
  • Maintaining strong documentation control, traceability, decision logs, evaluation outputs, and audit evidence.

Required experience and skills

  • Background as a Business Analyst within security or SOC-related programmes.
  • Hands-on experience leading requirements workshops and producing detailed documentation.
  • Exposure to RFP activities, vendor evaluation, or procurement support.
  • Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.

Desirable experience

  • Knowledge of SIEM, MDR, SOC operations, or threat monitoring.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security tools and platforms.
  • Experience in large and complex organisations.
