Industrial Designer - Packaging Design

About the Role

Tata Elxsi is hiring a customer-oriented Industrial Designer focused on packaging innovation. This position calls for a professional with solid industrial design expertise, packaging design and development experience, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders across design, engineering, and program management. The role is based in Mumbai and requires coordination with offshore engineering partners.

What You’ll Do

• Spot opportunities to improve packaging in ways that support customer objectives and market expectations.
• Create strong working connections with client teams and internal partners in design, engineering, and program management.
• Run creative workshops, ideation sessions, and design-thinking exercises.
• Develop packaging and industrial design concepts that balance originality with practical manufacturability.
• Work with offshore engineering teams to turn ideas into detailed design outputs.
• Contribute across the full development cycle, from concept development and refinement to prototyping, testing, and CAD release.
• Help keep onsite and offshore workstreams aligned and moving smoothly.
• Communicate concepts and design recommendations in a clear and persuasive way.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in industrial design, product design, packaging design, or a closely related discipline.

Experience

This role requires 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
