Job Summary
The Industrial Custodian Janitor is charged with keeping a demanding industrial workplace clean, safe, and hygienic. The position helps day-to-day site activity by making sure facilities continue to meet safety, sanitation, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular cleaning across industrial spaces such as offices, washrooms, locker rooms, and shared areas.
- Disinfect commonly touched surfaces and work in line with site hygiene and safety rules.
- Collect, separate, and dispose of waste according to site procedures.
- Restock cleaning materials and flag any supply shortages.
- Use cleaning tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Adhere to site safety practices, PPE rules, and WHMIS requirements.
- Escalate maintenance concerns, hazards, and incidents without delay.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in janitorial work or industrial cleaning is an asset. Candidates should be comfortable working in remote or industrial settings and have a solid grasp of safety practices. The role also calls for physical stamina, including the ability to lift, bend, and remain on your feet for long periods. You should be dependable, attentive to detail, and able to work either independently or collaboratively. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory, and ongoing site testing requirements must be followed.
Work Conditions
- The schedule follows a rotational pattern, such as 5/2.
- Shifts may be during the day or overnight, depending on operational needs.
- The workplace is industrial and comes with strict safety compliance expectations.
- Food allowance of $28.50 applies for shifts of 8+ hours per day.
