Job description

Role overview

Abri Group is looking for an Independent Living Partner to support its Independent Living service in Merriott, with the nearest office based in Yeovil. This position focuses on housing management for schemes and properties used by older residents, with a strong emphasis on independence, wellbeing, and resident engagement.

What the role involves

You will be the main contact for tenancy, leasehold, and scheme-related matters for customers living in Independent Living schemes. The role also includes helping residents access agreed welfare contact and, where suitable, connecting them with support services inside or outside Abri to address identified needs.

In addition, you will oversee the social alarm system, carry out compliance checks and health and safety inspections across relevant buildings, and work closely with residents to build and sustain community involvement.

Working arrangements

This is a lone-working role that requires flexibility and travel across the region, with occasional cover across the wider Independent Living geography when needed. Applicants should live within a reasonable distance of the region and patch to carry out the role effectively.

Working hours may fall outside standard office times, including evenings, bank holidays, weekends, and other periods when offices are closed. The normal service hours for Independent Living are 8:00am to 4:00pm. In the event of a serious or major out-of-hours emergency, the post holder may be contacted to support the response.

Requirements and conditions

A full driving licence is required, along with access to a car, as travel is an essential part of the job. A DBS check is also required.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, flexibility, confidence with IT, and a good understanding of housing-related issues and the needs of older people. The ability to promote independence is especially important.

Additional information

The role involves supporting older residents, handling scheme management responsibilities, and maintaining safe, compliant, and well-connected living environments.
