Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is posted for a partner organization that handles all applications and subsequent hiring steps. The employer is seeking an Incident Response Business Analyst in the United States. The position is central to operational resilience, helping ensure major incidents across complex technology environments are handled quickly, smoothly, and with limited disruption to users and clients.

You will serve as a bridge between engineering, product, and operations teams during high-pressure events where clear communication, coordination, and sound judgment are critical. The work combines live incident management with longer-term improvements to processes, helping strengthen reliability and reduce future disruptions. You will help teams understand production issues, guide them toward resolution, and look for patterns that reveal recurring problems. The setting is fast-moving, highly collaborative, and centered on learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Direct and organize response efforts for major production incidents, keeping communication clear and resolution on track.
  • Serve as the main coordination point during incidents, aligning engineering, product, and operational partners.
  • Run post-incident reviews and risk evaluations to determine causes and reduce the chance of repeat events.
  • Review incident patterns and operational metrics to detect broader issues and recommend practical improvements.
  • Maintain accountability by assigning action owners, monitoring follow-through, and helping teams execute remediation plans.
  • Strengthen incident response procedures, written guides, and escalation paths to improve readiness across the organization.
  • Help cross-functional teams understand system behavior, dependencies, and operational risk.

Requirements

  • Background in incident management, technical operations, business analysis, or a similar role in a technology-focused company.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and briefly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, especially during severe incidents.
  • Comfort with making decisions when information is incomplete, while knowing when escalation is needed.
  • Strong analytical capability to identify trends, patterns, and root causes from operational or incident data.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and support or operations teams.
  • Well organized, with strong facilitation skills for leading postmortems, retrospectives, or risk reviews.
  • Curious mindset and willingness to learn a wide range of systems, products, and technologies.
  • Availability to work scheduled weekday shifts from Monday to Friday, either 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PT, and take part in on-call rotations about one week out of every four weeks.

Benefits and working conditions

  • Competitive annual compensation of $70,000 to $120,000.
  • Remote-first setup with flexible location eligibility anywhere within the United States.
  • Predictable weekday schedule designed to support operational stability.
  • On-call rotation pay and support structure.
  • Modern, collaborative, technology-driven environment with current tools and processes.
  • Opportunities to grow professionally in incident management and operational excellence.
  • Limited travel, around 1 to 2 weeks per year for in-person collaboration.
  • Team culture built around collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Hiring and data processing notes

The matching and review process uses AI-assisted screening to help identify candidates whose backgrounds align with the role’s core needs. Shortlisted profiles are shared with the hiring company, while interviews, assessments, and final decisions are handled by the company’s internal team.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that their personal data may be processed for evaluation and shared with the employer under applicable data protection rules, including GDPR where relevant. Applicants may request access, correction, deletion, or objection regarding their data. AI tools may also support parts of the recruitment workflow, such as resume review and response analysis, but final hiring decisions remain human-led.
