About the Role
Tesco Ireland is hiring an In-House Pensions Co-Ordinator to join its Reward & Benefits team. The position focuses on supporting the effective running of pension administration, governance, and colleague service across the company’s pension and life assurance arrangements.
Working alongside the Pensions Manager, the coordinator will help ensure that pension schemes are managed accurately, efficiently, and in line with relevant legal and regulatory standards. The role also includes helping colleagues understand and make the most of their benefits, contributing to a positive employee experience and supporting a key part of the total rewards offering.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily administration of Tesco Ireland’s pension and life assurance arrangements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external service providers, and offshore colleagues to make sure work is completed correctly and within deadlines.
- Check benefit calculations and support retirement, transfer, and death claim cases.
- Handle colleague and scheme enquiries, including more complex questions related to pensions.
- Support governance work such as trustee meeting packs, meeting minutes, compliance checks, and policy reviews.
- Contribute to annual pension activities including benefit statements, annual accounts, and risk benefit renewal work.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business and with external partners.
- Look for opportunities to streamline processes and improve how work is carried out.
- Help communicate pensions as an important element of colleague benefits.
- Follow Tesco policies and act with integrity and due care at all times.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in pensions administration, including both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.
- Working knowledge of pension and life assurance processes, including claims administration.
- Good understanding of pensions legislation, regulation, and revenue-related implications.
- Strong organisational ability and skill in handling several priorities at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to consistent service quality.
- Ability to build productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Proactive approach with an emphasis on ongoing improvement.
- Strong analytical capability and comfort working with detailed information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- A recognised pensions qualification.
- Experience supporting governance or scheme secretarial responsibilities.
