In-Home Design Consultant

About the Role

As a Design Consultant, you will visit homeowners at their residences, offer tailored flooring solutions, and guide them throughout the sales process from the initial consultation to the finalized agreement. You will represent a nationally recognized flooring company supported by a trusted brand, effective systems, and a steady stream of opportunities. This role is ideal for those who are competitive, self-motivated, and want their effort directly linked to their earnings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face in-home consultations with homeowners, offering personalized flooring solutions.
• Develop quick trust by comprehending customer needs, lifestyle preferences, and project objectives.
• Present carefully selected product options and design ideas to assist customers in confident decision-making.
• Take accurate measurements and generate detailed project estimates.
• Explain financing alternatives and current promotions to clients.
• Drive sales from consultation through to signed contracts, aiming to secure the customer's commitment during the first meeting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer journey from sale to installation.
• Consistently meet and exceed personal sales targets.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• At least two years of experience in in-home sales, outside sales, or consultative sales roles.
• Demonstrated success in reaching or beating sales quotas.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management capabilities.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the capacity to manage your own schedule and sales pipeline.
• Comfortable with one-call-close sales methods.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends to meet customer availability.
• Physical ability to lift and handle product samples or materials up to 55 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Comfort managing multiple in-home appointments daily within an assigned territory.

Compensation and Opportunities

This is a 1099 direct seller position offering an unlimited commission structure. Successful Design Consultants typically earn between $150,000 and $250,000 in their first year, with top performers exceeding $300,000 annually. Full compensation is based on experience and relevant certifications. New training cohorts begin every month, providing a timely opportunity to join.
