Role Summary
The IGCSE English Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that follow the IGCSE framework, with attention to reading, writing, speaking, and listening development. The role involves planning schemes of work, creating teaching resources, monitoring progress through classwork and examinations, and giving useful feedback that helps students improve. The teacher will also keep proper records, contribute to reports, and maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about student achievement and wellbeing.
Key Duties
- Plan and teach structured English lessons in line with the IGCSE curriculum.
- Create lesson plans, schemes of work, and classroom materials.
- Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reports.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding progress and wellbeing.
- Take part in department meetings and school-wide activities.
- Support co-curricular programmes and wider school initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen teaching and learning.
Candidate Profile
