ICT/Cybersecurity Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled ICT/Cybersecurity Engineer with solid knowledge of network and cybersecurity fundamentals. The candidate will be instrumental in project implementations, showing strong documentation abilities and on-site coordination skills. This role requires collaboration with senior engineers to manage deployment, testing, commissioning, and thorough documentation of network and security infrastructure across several locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the ICT team in planning, deploying, commissioning, and testing network and security solutions across multiple sites.
• Conduct site visits to facilitate IT and cybersecurity activities promptly.
• Communicate and coordinate efficiently with contractors, vendors, internal departments, and other stakeholders during project implementation and on-site activities.
• Assist with network connectivity testing, device configurations, and ensure cybersecurity compliance as per project guidelines.
• Create and maintain detailed network documentation such as configuration records, test reports, as-built drawings, and asset logs.
• Contribute to fundamental security configurations and hardening techniques including firewall rules and user access controls.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and prepare comprehensive handover documents.
• Provide technical assistance during project deployment, integration, and the transition to operational phases.
• Travel within the Doha area approximately 70% of the time to support project activities.

Job Summary

This position offers hands-on technical support for network and cybersecurity project executions. The engineer collaborates closely with senior staff during on-site work, configuration, testing, and preparing documentation to ensure delivery of secure and dependable network infrastructure.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Three to four years of experience in ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, or related positions.
• Practical experience working with network equipment from vendors like Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, HP, or Aruba.
• Firm grasp of networking fundamentals including the OSI model, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, and NAT.
• Basic awareness of cybersecurity best practices, frameworks, and strategies for threat prevention, detection, and response.
• Strong commitment to handling tasks across multiple locations and collaborating with vendors and installation teams.
• Comfortable reading network schematics and adhering to documentation and labeling standards.
• Good problem-solving skills with analytical thinking capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE level 1 to 3, or similar credentials.
• Past experience with firewall configurations, Wi-Fi deployments, or structured cabling is advantageous.
