Job description
About the Role
This position is for an experienced ICT educator who can contribute beyond classroom teaching into curriculum creation, lesson review, and educational technology testing. The work blends teaching practice, instructional design, and hands-on technology use to make sure every ICT lesson is accurate, well-sequenced, age-appropriate, and ready for classroom use.
The organization is an international EdTech company working closely with education authorities and focusing on future-oriented learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have school teaching experience in ICT or Computer Science, a strong understanding of how lessons are built and assessed, and comfort working across a variety of technical subjects and digital tools.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, audit, and improve ICT curriculum content across all levels so that lessons remain current, correct, and aligned with learning goals.
- Test lessons from start to finish, including content on digital literacy, Python, programming, web development, AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and related emerging technologies.
- Check lesson material for technical accuracy, clarity, logical progression, and suitability for the intended age group before release.
- Use the same tools involved in lesson creation, such as authoring platforms, code editors, simulation tools, and learning management systems, to identify issues and usability gaps.
- Develop and organize new curriculum units and lesson plans for emerging technology topics when required.
- Work with Canva and similar design tools to build or refine slides, infographics, and other visual learning assets.
- Maintain an ongoing feedback cycle with content developers by reporting issues and suggesting practical improvements.
- Keep curriculum content aligned with changes in technology education, including developments in AI, cybersecurity, web development, and related fields.
Supporting Responsibilities
- Coordinate with classroom teachers to understand delivery challenges and collect feedback on lesson effectiveness.
- Run occasional training sessions for teachers on new technologies and teaching tools relevant to ICT.
- Assist with onboarding new teaching staff into the curriculum tools, standards, and workflows.
Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid/remote role. The selected candidate will primarily work remotely, with occasional in-person participation for teacher training, school visits, or team meetings when needed. Working hours are standard, with some flexibility depending on project deadlines and curriculum review cycles.
What Success Looks Like
- A strong, engaging, and technically reliable ICT curriculum across all subject areas.
- Lessons that are thoroughly tested and classroom-ready before they are rolled out.
- Teachers who remain supported and informed about new technologies through periodic training.
- A clear, documented, and repeatable lesson review and quality assurance process.
Desired Background
The role is best suited to an ICT or Computer Science teacher with classroom experience at primary, secondary, or further education level. Prior exposure to curriculum development, instructional design, e-learning content creation, or curriculum quality assurance will be highly useful. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Scratch, Replit, GitHub, or similar tools is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Skills
A degree in Computer Science, Education, Educational Technology, or a related subject is preferred. Teaching certification such as B.Ed. or an equivalent qualification is also desirable. The candidate should be able to write clearly, communicate effectively with teachers and developers, work independently in a hybrid or remote setup, and create visual educational content using tools like Canva, Adobe Express, Figma, or PowerPoint design add-ins.
Additional Information
This role is meant for educators who want to shape what students learn, not only how it is taught. The emphasis is on curriculum review, lesson development, and testing rather than day-to-day teacher liaison, although supporting teachers and training them is part of the wider responsibility. The position is full-time and may involve occasional collaboration with in-person teams as needed.
