Job overview
We are hiring careful, motivated people to join the hygiene crew at a production kitchen in Dulcote, Wells. In this position, you will help keep manufacturing spaces clean, safe, and compliant so the business can continue producing meals to a consistently high standard.
The work is important in a busy kitchen environment where hygiene directly affects food quality, safety, and customer trust.
Working hours
The shift pattern is 4 nights on followed by 4 nights off. Hours are 6:00pm to 6:00am.
Key duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitisation across equipment, surfaces, and production zones.
- Use the correct cleaning chemicals and methods to reduce contamination risks.
- Spot hygiene issues, hazards, or non-compliance concerns and act quickly to resolve them.
- Work closely with production colleagues and supervisors to support site-wide hygiene standards.
- Investigate hygiene-related faults or issues and help put corrective actions in place.
What the role calls for
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-minded, and comfortable working as part of a team. Food safety knowledge is preferred, although full training will be provided. A strong sense of responsibility and a careful approach are essential.

Pay and benefits
You will receive an hourly rate of £16.98, increasing to £17.68 after 3 months. This is equivalent to more than £37,000 to £38,000 per year based on a 40-hour week, excluding overtime. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, which is over £20 per hour.
