Job description
Role overview
We are hiring a Hygiene Operative to support and improve the hygiene standards at our distribution centre in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time options available.
Working pattern
The role follows a 5-days-from-7 schedule each week and includes at least one weekend day. Shift options include day, late, and night-style late shifts.
- Day shift: 6:00 to 14:00
- Late shift: 14:00 to 22:00
- Late shift: 16:00 to 00:00
What the role involves
You will be expected to take pride in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, use your own initiative, and work closely with the warehouse team to keep standards high across the site.
- Carry out daily cleaning across the warehouse area, including bin emptying and use of the waste compactor.
- Gather recyclable materials for processing.
- Operate the bailer when required.
- Respond quickly to spillages and trip hazards to maintain site safety.
- Log and track damaged items to help reduce waste.
- Support yard upkeep and cleanliness.
Pay and benefits
The pay rate is £13.69 per hour for day shifts, or £10.90 per hour if you are under 21. For afternoon, late, and night shifts, the rate is £14.85 per hour, or £12.35 per hour if you are under 21. Overtime is regularly available for those who want to earn more.
