Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hydraulic Fitter to join our busy depot located in Mountmellick. The role involves inspecting, servicing, and maintaining Groundforce hydraulic hire equipment and depot assets with efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs on hydraulic hire equipment and depot assets, adhering closely to company procedures and competency levels.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns at customer sites for inspection, service, and repair, ensuring safety and compliance with skill levels.
- Follow all company policies and procedures consistently.
- Assist Depot Foreman or Leadinghand in preparing equipment for hire.
- Collaborate with line management to understand and fulfill customer requirements to maintain excellent service standards.
- Handle pneumatic and electrical hand tools; training will be provided.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records of service and inspections.
- Identify and document damage or out-of-service equipment.
- Operate counter-balance or multi-directional forklifts for loading, unloading, and storage; training provided.
- Use pressure washers to clean equipment thoroughly.
- Ensure stock levels are correctly maintained and equipment quality meets company standards.
- Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, reporting concerns promptly.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Occasionally operate the depot van as needed.
- Assist with other duties within skill set as directed to ensure smooth operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Accuracy in completing records and paperwork is mandatory.
- Proficient in using scanners, PDAs, tablets, and computers.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems with ability to diagnose faults is essential.
- Good physical fitness is required.
- Must be flexible, reliable, trustworthy, and demonstrate excellent punctuality.
- Possession of a valid full clean driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service roles.
- Familiarity with commercial shoring operations.
- Background in construction, housing, or civil engineering sectors is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the shoring and hire industry.
- Mechanical experience is beneficial but not essential.
