HVAC Technician at The St. Regis Downtown Dubai

Position Overview

The St. Regis Downtown Dubai seeks a skilled HVAC Technician to manage and resolve guest maintenance requests efficiently. This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and repair of mechanical and kitchen equipment. The technician will maintain equipment inventory and coordinate necessary part requisitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests while maintaining clear communication to resolve issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room devices, including inspection and cleaning.
• Operate and locate all equipment shut-off valves and building utility shut-offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventories and order parts as required.
• Communicate daily activities and challenges to subsequent shifts utilizing approved procedures.
• Possess or develop knowledge across areas including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, plus thorough cleanup.
• Troubleshoot, test, and carry out minor repairs on various equipment and components such as plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, and guestroom accessories.
• Program televisions and manage housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout safety systems before maintenance tasks.
• Maintain landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Use basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
• Adhere strictly to company safety, security, and quality policies including reporting hazards, completing safety training, and correctly storing flammable materials.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Offer welcoming and attentive guest service, including assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Support team goals and maintain positive workplace interactions, communicating clearly and professionally.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting items up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs or ladders, and other movements requisite for the role.
• Complete additional assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, painting, and surface preparation.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A valid driver's license is required.
