Role Overview
An established holding group in Abu Dhabi is looking for a seasoned HR leader to create and run its human resources function. This is a build-from-scratch opportunity for someone who combines strategic thinking with practical execution and who can work closely with senior leadership across the group and its operating companies. The ideal person will help shape people strategy, improve organizational effectiveness, and support business growth through strong HR practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set up the HR function from the ground up and define the core frameworks, processes, and capabilities needed for the business.
- Partner with senior leaders across the group to align people initiatives with commercial goals and overall business direction.
- Lead HR planning and execution across key areas such as recruitment, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.
- Influence leaders at all levels, including executives, board members, and operational managers, to drive effective people decisions.
- Support the development of a high-performing, scalable HR structure that can grow with the organization and its multiple entities.
- Use a hands-on approach to deliver practical HR solutions while maintaining a strategic view of business needs.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a similar discipline is required.
- A master’s degree or recognized professional HR certification is preferred.
- At least 12–15+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership exposure in startup, scale-up, entrepreneurial, or similarly fast-growing environments.
- Proven ability to design and build HR departments, structures, and capabilities from the beginning.
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to translate people strategy into business results.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to work with senior and executive-level audiences.
- Broad knowledge across the HR spectrum, including talent acquisition, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.
- A balanced mindset that combines strategic planning with day-to-day delivery.
- Clear communication, strong leadership, and the ability to build productive working relationships.
- Experience across multiple business units, companies, or regions would be an advantage.
