About the Client
The hiring organization supports vehicle emissions testing programs that are designed to meet local regulations across multiple US states and counties. It works alongside public agencies to strengthen air-quality compliance and advance environmental public-policy goals.
Role Overview
This position is responsible for handling core HR operations on a day-to-day basis, including employee relations, leave management, compliance support, and benefits assistance. The role partners with leaders across several states to keep HR practices consistent, fair, compliant, and supportive of a healthy, inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HR processes throughout the full employee lifecycle.
- Handle employee relations matters such as investigations, disciplinary issues, conflict resolution, and related training.
- Work with leaders and staff to promote fair and equitable workplace practices.
- Support the design and delivery of training programs.
- Track and document required training compliance.
- Assist with benefits-related administration.
- Review employee data and organizational trends to share practical recommendations.
- Coordinate with HR team members across multiple states.
- Help drive HR team goals, systems, and operating objectives.
- Administer FMLA and other leave programs.
- Support workers’ compensation claim handling.
- Help ensure adherence to employment laws and recommend effective HR practices.
- Prepare OSHA, EEO, and BLS reports and support other regulatory reporting tasks.
- Manage unemployment claims and take part in hearings when needed.
- Contribute to safety-related initiatives.
- Be available for travel up to 5% when required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of US federal and state employment regulations.
- Experience with leave administration and workers’ compensation processes.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret data and turn findings into actionable solutions.
- Must be able to complete a background check and drug screening successfully.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related subject is preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state employers is preferred.
- Prior involvement in benefits administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms is preferred.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
