About the Role

Join Valpak in St. Petersburg, FL as a Human Resources Generalist where you will experience a hybrid work schedule and actively contribute to a diverse span of HR duties. This position is suited for HR professionals with up to four years of experience eager to impact onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, performance oversight, training, policy enforcement, and benefits management. Collaborate closely with HR leaders and business operations to implement strategic talent and engagement initiatives supporting leaders at various organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner by advising business leaders alongside HR leadership, ensuring compliance with employment laws, guiding employee relations, and handling inquiries on policies, benefits, and compensation.
  • Lead the onboarding and orientation process for new employees and maintain HRIS data accuracy; support recruitment efforts including offer letters, pre-employment screening, and documentation in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers.
  • Provide comprehensive HR support and take initiative on projects aimed at improving HR processes, policies, and an inclusive company culture.
  • Manage administrative HR tasks such as leave of absence tracking, unemployment claims, employment verifications, and compliance documentation; maintain confidentiality and data integrity within HR systems and prepare workforce analytics reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Up to four years in HR Generalist, Recruiting, or Employee Relations roles.
  • Experience using Paylocity or comparable HRIS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations, employment legislation, and compensation principles.
  • Proficient with HR data metrics and basic statistical analysis.
  • Ability to build effective professional relationships at all organizational levels and maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Professional demeanor with strong advocacy for both company policies and employee needs.
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills, including active listening and customer service excellence.
  • Intermediate capabilities in Microsoft Office; familiarity with applicant tracking systems highly advantageous.
  • A personal development plan targeting PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
