About the role

This full-time Human Resources Coordinator/Officer position is based at the Scoresby property and reports to the General Manager. The role supports the daily running of HR operations and contributes to broader business goals by helping ensure team members have the right guidance, resources and administrative support. It is a key role in strengthening employee relations and keeping HR processes running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with hiring and onboarding activities such as job advertising, screening applicants, arranging interviews and welcoming new starters.
  • Keep HR files, employee records and personnel systems current and accurate while following legal and company standards.
  • Handle employee paperwork, including employment contracts, leave documentation, payroll-related details and performance records.
  • Support the creation and rollout of HR policies, procedures and staff communication initiatives.
  • Provide administrative assistance for performance reviews, appraisals and training programs.
  • Respond to staff questions about HR rules, benefits, entitlements and other workplace concerns.
  • Help organise engagement activities, training sessions and professional development events for employees.
  • Assist with compliance obligations relating to workplace health and safety, workers' compensation and relevant legislation.
  • Prepare HR reports, statistics and other documents requested by management.
  • Manage sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and strict confidentiality.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will bring either a relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a similar area, or equivalent practical experience in an HR setting. Prior work in an HR coordinator or administrative HR position is preferred, especially in hospitality or another service-focused industry. Strong organisation, time management, communication and accuracy are essential, along with confidence using Microsoft Office and HR systems. Knowledge of Australian employment law, workplace relations and compliance requirements is important. The role also calls for good judgment, confidentiality, attention to detail and a genuine interest in helping employees and supporting a healthy workplace culture.

Preferred experience

Experience in hospitality, hotel operations or another customer-facing environment is an advantage.
