About the Role and Organisation
Our client is a leading global industrial services company operating across vital sectors such as critical infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, technology, and complex projects. The business is entering a significant growth phase in one of its most strategic Middle Eastern regions. To support this, they seek an outstanding People leader to collaborate closely with the Managing Director overseeing a regional business comprising several hundred employees across multiple Middle Eastern countries. The organisation's focus is on fostering a high-performance workplace culture that combines commercial achievements, operational excellence, and robust leadership.
Role Overview
This position transcends the scope of a conventional HR role. The candidate will act as a commercially astute People leader who believes optimal personnel decisions arise from a deep understanding of operational realities. The role demands immersive engagement with leaders and teams to comprehend day-to-day functions, customer service dynamics, revenue streams, and performance barriers. Credibility will be built through visible involvement within the operation, gaining insights into commercial drivers, operational challenges, and developmental opportunities. These insights will guide organisational design, talent strategies, leadership development, workforce planning, and culture enhancement to boost business effectiveness. As a pivotal leadership team member, the individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and senior managers, offering counsel, challenge, and perspective to ensure impactful people decisions align with commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and leadership group to define and implement business strategies.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the business's commercial and operational realities via ongoing interactions with frontline and operational teams and commercial units.
- Transform business insights into actionable people-centered solutions enhancing performance, productivity, engagement, and growth.
- Guide organisational restructuring, workforce planning, and skill development projects underpinning long-term expansion.
- Coach and support senior leaders, fostering a culture emphasizing accountability, inclusion, and outstanding performance.
- Leverage people analytics and business metrics to spot risks, opportunities, and future competency needs.
- Lead succession planning, talent growth, and engagement approaches.
- Oversee significant transformation initiatives in a multifaceted, multinational context.
- Serve as the executive liaison between the business and HR specialists to ensure alignment of solutions with business priorities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven expertise as a trusted consultant to senior-level executives.
- Extensive experience within complex large-scale, multi-country operations.
- Strong commercial insight with the ability to directly connect people strategies to business outcomes.
- A hands-on approach with a reputation for engagement within business operations, not merely observation.
- Experience influencing top-tier stakeholders through credible insights and constructive challenge.
- Track record of leading organizational change, development, and growth programs successfully.
- Comprehensive understanding of frontline and operational business environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge and experience within the Middle East region considered highly beneficial.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English languages.
Why Join?
This role offers the chance to significantly impact a major regional enterprise during an important growth phase. The person selected will collaborate with a driven Managing Director and leadership team, playing a vital part in shaping organizational capabilities, leadership proficiency, and culture to meet ambitious commercial targets.
