Role overview
This remote contract opportunity is for a senior People Operations Business Partner supporting leaders and employees across the organization. The assignment runs for 6 months, with a strong possibility of being extended or converted into a permanent role.
Compensation and schedule
Pay is $45–50 per hour. Working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mountain Time. Preference will be given to candidates who can align with Mountain Time, although Pacific and Central time zones may also be considered.

What you will do
The position is centered on employee relations, performance management, manager coaching, and leave and accommodation-related support. You will act as a trusted partner to business leaders, helping them handle sensitive people issues with consistency, sound judgment, and compliance awareness.
- Guide managers and leaders through employee relations matters such as performance concerns, workplace conflict, attendance issues, and policy interpretation.
- Coach leaders on how to deliver feedback, document issues properly, manage corrective action, and navigate difficult employee discussions.
- Support performance improvement plans, disciplinary processes, severance discussions, and broader organizational changes.
- Run impartial workplace investigations and recommend suitable resolutions based on findings.
- Work alongside Leave and Accommodations teams when cases overlap with employee relations concerns.
- Carry out exit interviews, look for recurring themes, and share recommendations that can improve retention and employee experience.
- Keep case records accurate and use HR case management and HRIS tools to analyze trends.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a closely related discipline is required.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in employee relations.
- Background in performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee investigations.
- Solid grasp of employment law basics and multi-state compliance requirements.
- Strong decision-making ability, careful documentation habits, and consistency in applying policies.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence leaders across levels.
- Experience with HR Acuity, Workday, and Google Workspace is preferred.
